Let it be proclaimed and made known to all who shall read these presents that Abraham Senior served Their Catholic Majesties Ferdinand and Isabella in the final days of the war for Granada and stood among those who witnessed the submission of the Moorish king and the restoration of that realm to the Crown of Castile.
Thereafter in the year of Our Lord MCCCCXCII at the Monastery of Guadalupe he received baptism under the sponsorship of the King himself and was received into royal favour and council. By authority of the Crown it was declared that he and his lineage should be held in the estate of hidalgos and that the descendants of Abraham Senior should possess and enjoy that condition with all honours and privileges belonging thereto for themselves and their heirs in perpetuity.
And let it further be understood that what has thus been granted under royal authority shall remain firm and perpetual to be held and enjoyed without contradiction or diminution nor altered by any lesser power save only by the sovereign authority of the King of Spain.
And it is moreover proclaimed that the Crown of Portugal likewise acknowledged the nobility of this lineage and that those charged with the recognition of hidalguia within that realm shall recognise the descendants of Abraham Senior as belonging to that estate and as rightful bearers of the emblems traditions and dignities descending from that house.
